The magic of a traditional Christmas Market is casting more UK visitors under its spell every year. Historic Christmas Markets, held in cities, towns and villages are becoming increasingly popular, due, no doubt, to the enchanting festive atmosphere they evoke. The aromas of roast chestnuts and mulled wine, the sound of familiar, old tunes and little stalls piled with brightly coloured wares bathed in the glow of festive lights all help to create that exciting pre-Christmas atmosphere.
Arguably the most scenic section of the Rhine is between Rüdesheim and Koblenz with its steep gorges, historic villages and castles clinging to the hillsides. Boppard, known as 'the Pearl of the Rhine', lies on a huge bend of the famous river and is famous for its history. The traditional, family run Ebertor hotel is ideally located overlooking the river and promenade in Boppard.
